Great painter, tragic life

To be honest I'm not that updated in the world of art, but I have managed to learn something throughout the years my mum spent forcing me and my brother to different museums and exhibitions. To me it's not about who can paint the prettiest sunset or getting the details right. It'm more about an expression and being able to portrait a certain mood or an emotion. The norwegian painter Edvard Munch (I'm sure most people have seen his "Scream") has somehow managed to do that. Everytime I look at one of his pictures it really gives me a strong understanding of what he was trying to portrait painting it. When I lived in Oslo there was nothing better than spending a rainy sunday in the Munch museum. I know he is world famous and stuff, but I really think he is underestimated anyway. Most people have only seen one or two pictures of him. I've seen most of them and I think they all have the same standard. I really love his work. It's amazing how simple, but yet so difficult it can be to express something as simple as one single feeling with colours. If you haven't seen any of his stuff I'd recommend you to check it out. http://www.edvardmunch.com/
